The Bills Run Deep - Week 7 Preview

If the title sounds familiar it’s because it is all over the stadium, all over commercials, and it is even on our season ticket cards. The assumption being that the Bills run game was so good last year and has continued to be great again this year. Another meaning that has taken form this year is that this Bills team is VERY deep. With Dareus, Shaq, and Reggie Ragland not playing a single snap this year the Bills defense has been one of the best in the league. The depth with Alexander and Zach Brown at LB has been huge and the defense might even be better with them in it. The combination of Bryant, Douzable, and Washington all rotating to fill the empty (huge) space for Dareus will be big for late in the season. All these players are getting important reps that will allow the Bills defense to stay fresh all season. It is looking like Lawson and Dareus are both going to make their debuts this week. Lawson will be one of the best backups in the league behind Alexander/Hughes, and also expect to see him play DE when the Bills go to 4 down lineman. This defense can be scary good with all of these options it now has with everyone healthy. Hopefully, the Offense can do the same if, (please be okay) McCoy cannot go on Sunday. The O Line is phenomenal so the 3 backs (Gillislee, Bush, Williams) should have room to run.

Keys to the Game

  • Do not Fall into the Trap

I know everyone is saying the right things about not overlooking this game. But, there is a reason it keeps getting brought up.The look ahead for a 6-1 Patriots vs 5-2 Bills is too enticing not to be noticed.Bills need to focus on going to Miami and coming back with the W.There is a reason people get very rich off betting home dogs and Vegas gets SUPER rich off the public picking the road favorite.Divisional Home Underdogs are almost a ridiculous lock to cover spreads and have actually won the game more often than naught.

  • Make Ryan Tannehill Beat You

Sounding like a broken record, but there just isn’t many good QBs in the NFL that we have played yet.Sometimes this back fires and the QB turns into Joe Montana i.e see Jets game. For the most part though this usually works. The Dolphins running game is getting some momentum after last week Ajayi finally busted out.He was a great RB at Boise St and is dangerous when he touches the Ball.Robey-Coleman has been incredible this season and will have his hardest challenge this week covering Landry. Miami plays their best WR in the slot, so Bills could also move Darby or Gilmore into the slot if Robey is having trouble.

  • Get an Early Lead

The best way to prevent an upset is to score the first time you touch the ball. Tyrod and Co need to take their first possession and show the Dolphins they are the better team. The longer you keep an underdog in the game the more their mind thinks they have a chance to win. If you bury them early they will start to play complacent because they know they are not that good.Need to run the ball down the throat of this 31st worst defense in the league and score early n often. Also, expect a shot deep early against this defense, since they will be missing two DBs.

Let’s keep this continuing not to suck train going
